Kayden Environmental Services has developed the K-LAB to better serve its clients through solids control evaluation, performance testing, as well as optimization services. With a dedicated staff throughout North America, the K-LAB can assist in meeting the requirements of each client from the planning to post completion project stages.

The ultimate goal of the K-LAB is to deliver specific solutions to each customer by understanding their unique challenges and needs, and then delivering a customized solution.

Features & Benefits

  • Superior quality control methodology based on international ISO-13320-1 standards.
  • Efficient analysis times compared to commercial laboratories.
  • Accurate and precise results based on a 3R philosophy: Responsibility, Reproducibility and Robustness.
  • Custom reporting available to meet each individual client’s needs.
  • Powerful software for appropriate modelling for the size range being measured.
  • Use of a specific low volume dispersion unit for oil based samples, reducing the need for a solvent extraction pre-treatment sample.

K-DRY Green

Quick and Efficient Solidification and Spill Management

Kayden Environmental Services currently offers a superior green alternative to standard drying agents such as saw dust, fly ash, wood chips and many more drying agents. K-DRY Green is a locally sourced drying agent made from miscanthus grass. It is a 100% natural granular absorbent that offers an effective and efficient solution to solidification and spill management.

Features & Benefits

  • Absorbs up to 6 times its own weight in water
  • Absorbs up to 5 times its own weight in oil
  • 10x more absorbent than fly ash
  • 8x more absorbent than clay
  • Reduced disposal costs
  • Reduced storage, handling, and operational costs
  • Sold in super sacs for ease of handling
  • Super sacs prevent spoilage from the elements
  • Super sacs reduce inefficient mixing practices associated with mixing bulk product

Barite Recovery

Kayden Environmental Services is the leading innovator in Barite Recovery and has proven performance throughout all major North American oilfield basins. With a continual optimization approach, Kayden has been able to outperform the competition and show true cost savings to operators across the industry.

Why Kayden’s Barite Recovery Process is Successful

  • Kayden’s barite and polishing centrifuges have adjustable pool plates, which combined with the VFD panel allowing the technician to make multiple adjustments to optimize the amount of barite recovered.
  • Kayden’s barite recovery setup utilizes a wash down pump which allows the barite to blend with drilling fluid before being reintroduced to the mud tanks; along with dumping the fluid over the rig agitators, prevents the recovered barite from settling out in the mud tanks after being discharged from the centrifuge.
  • Kayden is able to process the effluent from the barite machine multiple times before reintroducing the fluid into the rigs active system. Ensuring the fluid is as clean as possible.
  • Kayden technicians continually check mud weights in the active system as well as the overflow and underflow of the centrifuges and make necessary adjustments based on the results.
  • Kayden’s barite recovery process can be operated and optimized, 24/7 which allows for continued operation during drilling.

Dewatering System Skid

Dewatering Systems

Kayden Environmental Services provides fully integrated dewatering skids with a single or dual centrifuge setup, complete with pumps, and polymer injection units. These dewatering skids are designed and built to transport easily and efficiently while operating reliably. Dewatering is both an economical approach to any operation by reducing the reliance on fresh water, minimizing disposal costs, and providing a higher quality centrifuge effluent.

Features & Benefits

  • Efficient load package for transport.
  • Single winch load on or off a trailer.
  • Reduced rig up and rig down time, with minimal manpower requirements.
  • Hydraulic lift cylinders are incorporated into the skid; no crane assistance required.
  • Compliant with all U.S.A and Canadian safety standards.

Kayden Vertical Dryer

Vertical Dryers

Use of a Kayden Environmental Services’ vertical dryer can recover up to 95% of drilling fluids. A substantial decrease in attraction between liquid and oil results in a retort of vertical dryer cuttings that can range between 6% and 1% oil by weight.

Kayden Environmental Services is committed to reducing drilled solids waste and decreasing any related disposal costs. Correct usage of a vertical dryer can ensure client compliance with local environmental regulations and aid in the recovery of base fluid.

Kayden Environmental Services sets the industry standard for sample testing for reducing fluids discards on drill cuttings. Decreasing waste, disposal, and recovering fluid allows our clients to minimize operating costs. Kayden’s vertical dryers have durable and functional maintenance characteristics for reduced downtime. All standard parts are easily accessed from the top of the unit. Belts can be changed quickly without removal of the drive assembly, and the drive assembly itself can be removed easily.
